snow

These are not my photos. My husband was up in the highlands yesterday and today and took these photos. They were so beautiful I just had to post them here.

Wine

Well, not much of a photo tonight-
just my glass of red I'm enjoying in front of the fire!

So many..

...beautiful photos today-so many beautiful scenes to take photos of.

It was hard to choose my photo of the day, but this is my final choice:

It was taken at Flotterstone in the Pentland Hills. I went for a walk-the sun was shining, there was very little wind, the snow was soft and pristine. It was beautiful.

Earlier in the day I took some macro photos of some seed heads in my garden. I'm pleased with the clarity of the ice and water droplets. You can click on all images for a closer look.

I love these upturned boats-out of action because of the snow:

And these photos show how cold the loch looked:

And some trees by the burn:

And somw wider landscapes:

And some pigeons on a roof:

Holyrood Park

This is looking through the gates of Holyrood Park,
near the Commonwealth Pool, to Salisbury Crag.
It is amazing that what looks like wilderness
is almost in the centre of the city.
I drive through here most days to get to work,
and I never tire of the view.

Note the crowns on top of the lamps posts.
This is because Holyrood Palace is set within the park.

Blackford Pond

I noticed Blackford Pond was frozen over today, so I stopped and took these quick photos:

Queensferry

I took this photo today as I was out and about.
It's Queensferry harbour.
The tide was out, and so there was nothing like nice reflections in the water.
Anyway, I think the photo looks better in black and white, a bit more atmospheric.
